Directions: Mark which things you have done, then calculate your score by counting the number of questions you marked. This test is out of 100 questions which means that the number you get as your score is also your percentage. Tag all of your friends, and repost as "I do stupid things __% of the time."

I do stupid stuff 50% of the time )

Meme rules: Put your MP3 player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-first is the title.

I didn't think I'd have time to decorate next weekend, so I decided to put up the tree this weekend. Which I did yesterday. I was only going to put up the tree, but things sort of progressed and now it looks like the North Pole exploded in my living room. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy about it. ;)

The hospice has to have all of the food for the food drive by tomorrow, so I spent most of today baking. I loved it and have a big bag of cookies to take to them. :D And the house smells like butterscotch. Yum.

I may have tried to do too much though, because now I'm so sore I can barely move. I'm so glad I only have to work three days this week.

If you haven't commented yet, my Christmas card post is here.

Okay, so this year I've managed to stay away from politics in my LJ, but I'm still kinda giggling over this so I have to share:

(Phone call I got last night from the state Republican campaign)

Caller: (first she asked to speak to my mom who wasn't there) Are you a registered voter?
Me: Yes.
Caller: On October 9th Bobby Bright endorsed Barack Obama. Can Jay Love, Jeff Sessions, and John McCain count on your support on Nov. 4th?
Me: I'm sorry, no, they can't.
Caller: *dead silence, then very clipped* Well, thank you. *click*

Bobby Bright and Jay Love are running for congress in my state. The campaign has gotten very nasty, and Jay Love reminds me of a weasel, and not just because he looks like one. In all fairness, though, I probably will vote for Jeff Sessions (senate).

Is it Tuesday yet?

List ten quotes from ten of your OTPs. Your flist's job is to guess which of your OTPs said the quotes and from what movie/television show/book/etc. they are from.

So, [livejournal.com profile] popnography posted an interview about Milk. So far all I've really heard about it is that Sean Penn and James Franco are in the movie and, of course, I know the basic storyline, but I didn't know that it had been written by Dustin Lance Black!

Apparently, he's writing for "Big Love" now, but I first discovered him about five years ago when he did The AMC Project: Gay Hollywood:

(on the right)

He also did The Journey of Jared Price. :)

Josh Groban at the Emmy's was possibly the best thing ever.

After my last post about gay-themed movies, I started thinking about all the ones I've seen, and while I liked most of the ones on the list, there were some that didn't make it that I really enjoyed. So those recs are behind the cut, and I'd love to know which GTMs you've seen that you would recommend. :D

I've decided I need to start writing again. I really want to. If I were to continue 'Cafe on the Corner', would anyone still be interested? I mean, I'll probably do it anyway, but I'd kind of like to know. ;)

I've seen 46 of them. How many have you seen? )

Hi!

I'm at work right now, a little bored since I'm the only one here. I've been so busy at work even though my boss has been gone for the last few weeks. Aside from that I've been tutoring on the side (history and English), which has been a great way to make some extra money and I actually enjoy it. It takes up a lot of my time, though.

I'm so far behind on email I may never catch up. You know who you are, and I apologize.

*hugs flist* I miss you all so much, and I wish I could be around more. I know some of you are going through really difficult time right now, just know I'm thinking about you. *more hugs*

Okay, really quick. My grandmother broke her leg, and she's having surgery Friday. Between that and work, I'm not going to be around until at least the weekend (we'll see). I just didn't want to completely disappear again, but I don't have time to answer individual emails right now. [livejournal.com profile] madame_d, [livejournal.com profile] matan4il, and [livejournal.com profile] dreamerren, in particular, I'm sorry. I really owe you guys responses.

[livejournal.com profile] madame_d, I got your package, and I can not wait to delve into properly. Thank you so much! *hugs*

*hugs flist* Maybe one of these days I can manage a real update.

[livejournal.com profile] madame_d, I got your package! *squees* I've listened to "You're So Vain" about 20 times so far. ;P Thank you SO much! *hugs* You made my week.

[livejournal.com profile] hammil77 and [livejournal.com profile] lise_ann, I got your cards! Thanks. :) John Barrowman is now staring back at me from my wall and the polar bear is SO cute! ([livejournal.com profile] lise_ann, I must have made a mistake on your address because the card I sent you came back to me, but I've put it back in the mail, readdressed. Sorry!)

I've got all of next week off, and I promise to catch up on emails and stuff. I've been so horrible about that lately. *hugs flist*

Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing. (Downgrading to 30 because 50 is too many.)
Step 3: Strike through the songs when someone guesses both artist and track correctly (I'll give it to whomever gets it first)
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!
Step 5: If you like the game post your own!

And a book meme stolen from [livejournal.com profile] katzk.

These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing's users (as of today). As usual, bold what you have read, italicize those you started but couldn't finish, and strike through what you couldn't stand. Add an asterisk to those you've read more than once. Underline those on your to-read list.

So it's been over a month since I posted, and even though I've been extremely busy nothing has really happened. Does that make any sense?

I'm still loving my job. My actual title is 'administrative assistant' but I basically just do whatever my boss needs me to do whenever he needs it. Like this Friday, I took his son to the Homecoming parade (which was a lot of fun), and last Friday, his daughter came home early, so I literally got paid to play with dolls and watch the Disney Channel. It's almost like having two separate jobs, the stuff I do in the office and then the time I spend with the kids. I like it because every day is different, and I never know exactly what to expect.

In other news:

John Barrowman's new CD comes out on Nov. 12. Yay! See the track listing HERE.

I'm 4 episodes away from being completely caught up on Doctor Who. Then I can start reading fanfic without having to worry about spoilers. Not that I actually have time to read fanfic, but it's a nice dream, so let's just go with it.

I'm not watching much TV anymore, but I rather enjoyed the season premiere of House. I didn't realize how much I missed it. Haven't really found any new shows I'm excited about yet. Suggestions, flist?

I haven't been around much, but it's been a tough week. My mom's cousin, who's been battling cancer for awhile, died this week. Then my cousin's girlfriend was killed in a car accident. I just haven't really felt like being online, plus there's been lots of family stuff to deal with.

Hopefully, I'll catch up on emails/comments this weekend. I just wanted to check in. I'm disabling comments because that'll just be more to catch up with, but I do appreciate all of you so much.

So much better (and accurate) than People, in my opinion. :) Check it out and drool see for yourself.

Every year they [People] decree the "Sexiest Man Alive," and more often than not, we're left scratching our heads over the selections. (Sidenote: I usually am, too.) Anyway, here's the answer:

The AfterElton.com Hot 100 List
